However...
...did I have time to go out to work!
I spent the morning making beads, including these focals...
The two different types of glass I've used give the beautiful metallic finish, when heated differently in the flame. I love making focals...I don't do that enough!
I top-dressed my herb garden...spread some muck about!
Put some chicken wire along the top of the fence behind our summer house, as the horse in the field that wraps around two sides of our garden, could put his head over and was chewing the back window ledge on the summer house.
Cleaned and finished the beads made this morning...
Normal house things in between...and chasing up some of the new kitchen bits.
....though I did get some time to do some embroidery when my dinner was cooking!
I know how I get more time these days...it's being content doing what I do!

After making...
...some beads this morning(burning my arm in the process, as the rod spanked and shot a sliver of red hot glass up my sleeve!), and waving good bye to the tiler who has finished the floor(photos to follow), I pulled some weeds, looked for another rabbit hole...as a baby bunny was nibbling the grass and my pansies, which I still can't find, did some ironing. Then feeling kind of bored I wanted to discover what was making such a smell on the stairs, so up came the carpet which is now sitting outside waiting to be thrown. Now if I thought I would discover beautiful( I didn't) wooden stairs...I'd have to think again. There, all old, bent...worn, painted brown, nails and staples everywhere, were my bare stairs, but I did discover the smell...it went out when the carpet went.
Now what to do with those stairs!
Now what to do with those stairs!

You have...
...to love the colours...

and Mint...
It's been good getting back into the swing of things, after so long of just jogging along. I've missed making these little pearls of colour.

A bright and beautiful day today...some new beadies on the way, but to start...the pale blue is a beautiful German glass, which is lovely to work with....swirled over purest white.

Such a pretty lilac ribbon runs through these crystal clear beads.

All for sale in my Etsy shop...

A favourite...
...colour. I think this is my favourite glass to use. It just reacts quite naturally to the heat from my torch, and depending how you do that you get the most wonderful colours...

A new...

gallery is in full view on my website.

Wayward Rose is showing the colour range of spacers available...(though it will grow), once my move is done. The colours are there for people to ponder over. If anyone is smitten, just contact me via the site.

I need to pack all my glass away, dismantle my bench and shut up the bead making from this weekend. My Etsy shops should be remaining open until the 13 October. I also won't have access to the internet for at least a couple of weeks after our move, so plenty of time to set myself up at our destination.

Phew...
...whatta day!! I'm exhausted....
But, we've EXCHANGED!!! It nearly didn't happen, as our Norfolk lady came back from her weekend away having second thoughts...again, but...we exchanged contracts late this morning. Now, we've just got to get through the next six weeks, and then we'll be in Norfolk, with all the excitement of sorting out a new home.
I see Charlton made some signings today too...an experienced forward in Leon McKenzie, a young winger Luke Holden...from Rhyl, on loan at present with a view to signing permanently in January, and an old face at the Valley...defender Sam Sodje, a freebie after Reading released him last season. Two went out on loan too...with Stuart Fleetwood returning to Exeter on a years loan and Moots going to Motherwell for six months. It's great to see those players being mentioned in papers as having "followers", are staying with us...for that I say thanks, and long may we continue together.
And the beads...all cleaned and sparkling...

With weeks...
...of fiddling about with bits for friends, and the odd sale(my mind has been elsewhere, sorry about that), I finally got down to some serious bead-making yesterday. I had an order for eighty treacle pud spacers for Texas, which just have to be cleaned and listed ready for September. But, it showed how much I've missed serious making. I've also got some new ideas for jewellery, but those will wait until I'm set up in my new studio.
Photos will follow...
It's the village fete this afternoon. It's a big event in the village calendar, a very good one and our last as villagers. Three of the village organisations gain from it...the WI, the cricket club, and the village hall, plus a charity of choice...the WI arrange the teas(to die for), wine tent...craft plus saleable items, and cake stall(which groans with the number). The cricket club's responsibility is the beer pavilion...and bbq...and then others fill in with car park detail...duck dabbling...swings...etc... There's also a dog show before, with terrier racing...and a boot sale all day... Book, other craft and general stalls are around....so...
If you're ever in the area of the last village in north west Essex on an August bank holiday...come along...and have a good time!

And some etched...
...beads...

We're still waiting on details for the move, but we've had one removal company in to quote(we need eighty boxes...oops), and another two are coming on Monday... It's amazing how much you accumulate over eighteen years, and that's how long we've lived in our present house. He looked at the books and sighed...I took that as being an "oh my...poor back!" I didn't like to tell him there are boxes of books in the loft too...I just told him there were boxes... Our solicitor seems to be keeping himself busy, sending out letters, left, right and centre...querying all sorts of things...maybe he's trying to justify his fee too...
Apart from that...life just wends it's way...and England won the Test...

Wow! That was...
...fast!!
The man from Parcelforce just arrived and delivered my sewing machine! That's less than 48 hours! Love him, he thought we'd already moved...
Now all I have to do is open the box and give it a test drive...or sew...I'm all excited! But, I must work first...but, then there are the ideas spinning...concentrate...concentrate!
I've also had a request about my "orphans" and oddments...beads that is, I don't have an assortment of children laying around, so they're all sorted, photographed, emailed, and chosen.
A day for cheerfulness...

Beadies...
...are go!!

1 - Angel Wings
2 - Cocoa
3 - Denim
4 - High Peaks
5 - Beach Walk
I've also made myself some copper green for a necklace and earrings I hope to get finished for Saturday...the wedding we've been invited to. I have the design floating around in the head, but so far...not in reality.
The surveyor came this morning, and promises me there's nothing to worry about...but, listening to him making notes on his recorder...why are they always so dire with their opinions, but I have to believe...I mean I know our house isn't too bad, you listen to them and think it's going to fall over next week! One comment was...."it's a strange mix!" It's mid Victorian with two extensions...that's what the other surveys have said, but not this one...we have double thickness brick built internal walls, and he thinks they were at sometime all external...that makes the original house twelve foot square! He also thought we had a combi boiler "you don't have any tanks in the loft, do you?"..."ermmm...yes", I'd just told him we had it installed just before the rules changed and it's an ordinary one. We're still waiting for the fixtures and fittings list, and the searches from the local authority in Norfolk...everything else is dealt with, and the results of the two surveys done here...
I also gave myself a present...I bought my sewing machine. I just hope it arrives before the move date!!

Tada...
...*drum roll*

Gosh, this exhibiting is hard work!
Anyway, a house update...we did get an offer, on the low side, but that's the second we have floating about. We also have one saying they want to come back for a second viewing, and another viewer on Saturday...so...
Ya know...(as all good interviewees say)...whatever happens, if we sell and move on, or if we don't and we stay here, I'm going to miss my conversations with the agents! They're not all too bad!
